HQR2 Mpeg2/4 digital video Recorder
At last, a device has arrived that can record at 720 x 576 resolution, at 25fps and 8mb/s. There are only a handful of recorders available that can do this but at the moment, this is the only one with a built-in colour screen for previewing your image.
The HQR-2 is a pocket dvr that records high quality D1 video to CF cards up to 32gb in size. A 32gb card will hold 8 hours of video at full DVD quality. It has a built-in lithium-polymer battery which will power both itself and any bullet camera for over 3 hours. We've had over 5 hours record time when used with the Sony HQ2 bullet cameras. We can also supply external battery packs which will add a further 5 hours record time if required.
The HQR-2 can be set to record in either mpeg2 or mpeg4 mode and has 6 quality settings so you can get much more video on your CF card if you're happy to sacrifice a bit of video quality.
This pocket DVR is compatible with the CamEye LANC remote controller which can be used to turn the unit on or off and also start/stop recording at the touch of a button. This is a professional grade digital video recorder that's easy to use with it's on screen menu system.
This unit can be configured in many different ways and supports time/date stamp, loop mode recording and motion detection.
It has external audio inputs if you want to connect it to an audio device such as an external mic or an intercom. It's built-in mic also works really well and we expect most customers will be more than happy with the sound quality from this mic.
Full sound gain control is accessed by the on-screen menu so it will not matter whether you are skiing, snowboarding, cycling, in a racing car or on a bike, you'll be able to set it up and get a high quality sound track to your video.
When used with the HQ2 camera, the video quality is way better than anything else on the market.

The HQR recorders have a built-in microphone but you can get much better results when using this stereo mic.
This is a high quality clip mic which plugs directly in to the HQR.
No need for an external battery pack or pre-amp.
The mic is supplied with a 1 metre cable which can easily be extended.
A strong mic clip is also included for simple attachment.
