Contour HD 1080p
The new upgraded high definition Contour HD 1080p helmet camera from VholdR. The Contour HD 1080p has some really nice upgrades including the ability to now record at Full HD 1920 x 1080p. It also supports 720p video at 60fps for very smooth and sharp looking videos.
The enhanced software which is both PC and MAC compatible allows you to fully adjust your video settings and gives control over exposure settings, resolution and audio gain.
The design of the camera is identical to the ContourHD 720p version with it's rotating lens and twin lasers for easy positioning of your shot. This also means that all of the previous accessories and camera mounts will work with this latest version.
The 1080p version has the same large rubber coated record switch on the top. Slide it forward even with your gloves on to start recording and slide it back to stop again.
The new ContourHD 1080p is supplied with a rechargeable battery, a 2gb memory card and camera mounts.
If your computer is more than a couple of years old then we would recommend choosing the original ContourHD 720p camera which still gives superb video quality and is more than adequate for the average user.
Because of the file sizes that are created when recording at 1080p, you might want to consider purchasing a higher capacity memory card. The 2gb card supplied with this camera will only hold 1/2 an hour at it's highest quality setting.
You can use any MicroSD HC card but we recommend choosing a class 4 rated card. The largest card available is a 16gb card which will hold around 4 hours at full quality.
The battery supplied with the ContourHD 1080p should give around 2.5 to 3 hours record time depending on which mode you are recording in and the surrounding temperatures. Cold weather generally gives lower battery performance and so purchasing extra batteries is highly recommended if you are taking it skiing or snow boarding.
