Chasecam PDR100 Recorder
The Chasecam PDR100 is widely used in motorsport and is regarded as one of the best solid state digital recording devices on the market today.
As used by various F1 teams. This is a high quality Mpeg2 solid state digital video recorder which uses CF (compact flash) cards to store your video.
Video resolution is full PAL 720 x 576 and at a very respectable 8mb/s bit rate.
This kit includes the PDR100 recorder and the connecting cable for use with any bullet camera. We recommend a Sony HQ model for achieving the best results.
If you have a car or a bike, the chasecam pdr100 digital recorder makes a perfect replacement for a miniDV camcorder.
It's solid state so no moving parts, the video is stored digitally on to a Compact Flash card. Up to 32gb cards can be used that can store over 480 minutes of DVD quality footage with a bit rate of over 8000kb/s at 720x576 resolution. There are several video settings that allow you to store over 400 hours on a 32gb card at lower quality.
The format used is Mpeg2. This means you can take the raw footage from the pdr100 and import it directly into nearly all video editing software packages. Burning your video to DVD is very easy with this system.
Other functions of the pdr100 include a built-in mic with gain and level controls. You can add an external stereo mic as an option.
The PDR-100 is supplied with the cables required to connect to any of our bullet cameras and also provides power so no need for an extra power pack. It can be powered by 4 x AA internal batteries or any 12v external supply.
One of this unit's greatest feature is it's LANC compatibility. You can keep the PDR100 stored away and remote control it with any LANC remote. The LANC remote will provide feedback on the status of the digital recorder. Lanc remotes are available here.
Chasecam PDR100 with G-Force
This is a chasecam PDR100 fitted with a G-Force module.
This version of the PDR100 is exactly the same as the normal version but with added functionality of overlaying lateral-g and braking, acceleration g-forces on to the video from your camera.
It's very easy to set up with on-screen menu calibration set-up. You can be recording video with a g-force overlay in minutes.
One of the great new features of the latest firmware for the PDR100 with G-Force module fitted is you can set the unit to start recording when it detects your car or bike is in motion. This means is all you have to do is wire the unit to your ignition and it will always record when the vehicle is in motion without having to press a single button.
Chasecam SS1000 picture in picture processor
This is the PIP box from Chasecam. It is the same shape, size and build quality as the PDR-100 mpeg2 recorder. It has two video inputs that can be configured by the user to make different combinations of pictures within picture.
The inset picture can be top left/right or botton left/right. You can also split the screen horizontally or vertically. If one camera is removed, the ss1000 will default to full screen display for the connected camera.
The ss1000 will provide power for the two cameras using a Mini DIN to standard bullet camera connector supplied.
To connect the ss1000 to the pdr100 you should use the Mini DIN to Mini DIN cable supplied with this unit.

External Stereo Microphone
The PDR100 has a built-in microphone but you can get much better results when using this stereo mic.
This is a high quality clip mic which plugs directly in to the pdr100. No need for an external battery pack or pre-amp.
The mic is supplied with a 1 metre cable which can easily be extended.
A strong mic clip is also included for simple attachment.

The PDR100 does not have a built-in screen that you can watch your videos on. With this cable you can connect the chasecam up to any monitor or TV.
Outputs composite colour video and stereo sound.
This is a high quality heavy duty cable designed for the PDR100 recorder. It has a 3.5mm right angle jack plug and three RCA male plugs.

Chasecam mounting bracket
Best suited for car use. Safely mount the pdr100 in a permanant position.
This bracket can be securely screwed or bolted down. It allows the PDR or the SS1000 to snap in and out. Meets approved NASA, ACCA, PCA, POC and other requirements for secure mounting of a device to a vehicle.
