The pocket sized HQR-1 digital video recorder has the best image quality of any recording device on the market under £1k. This is the updated version which supports up to 32gb CF cards for over 8 hours of DVD quality video. Full D1 quality video!

The solid state HQR1 uses compact flash cards and encodes video with no moving parts. It can be set to either record mpeg2 or mpeg4 video and with an adjustable bit rate from 1mb/s up to 8mb/s. 720 x 576 @ 25fps. It has a built-in li-poly battery which will record and provide power to the Sony HQ cameras for over 3 hours. You can also plug in any 12v supply in to it to extend record times. This unit also supports the LANC remote controller so you can keep it tucked safely out of the way and remain in full control.

The HQR-1 is supplied with configuration software compatible with all versions of windows including Vista. The software allows you to change many features such as time/date stamping, video quality and colour/contrast controls.

Most functions can also be controlled in the field using the LCD display. It has a built-in mic and can also take audio from both line and audio inputs making it easy to connect to an intercom such as the peltor systems (line audio output is required on your intercom). Audio gain control is provided within the menu system.

This recorder uses compact flash cards and we will provide each unit with a FREE CF card reader with USB cable.

The HQR1 is a recorder only, it does not support playback but you can connect an external monitor to it to see what you are recording in real time.

The video processor in this recorder uses advanced algorithms to reduce the effect of interlacing articles attributed to digital video when played back on a TFT screen.

With a solid alloy case, this is the most rugged DVR suitable for use in just about any environment. It's footprint is about the same size as a cigarette packet which makes it the highest quality small DVR on the market today.

A high quality USB port is provided to give a superior connection to your camera. Cables are provided to adapt any composite video signal so it's compatible with just about all cameras on the market. For configuration and for transfering files a 100mb/s LAN cable is provided and you can also use this device as a video server for live streaming over your network.

This small 5" TFT Monitor has one of the brightest screens we have ever seen. A really nice quality piece of hardware that can accept any composite video input. Ideal for use with digital video recorders that don't have built-in screens.

Input connections are BNC and we will also supply BNC to RCA-Phono adapters.
